After 3 years of organizing in campuses and communities across the country, we at Student Peace Alliance felt it was time to take it up a notch. We want to make tangible change NOW and set in place the foundations for long term sustainable peace.
Check out some of the exciting new updates below!
Legislative Strategy
We have refocused our legislative strategy to focus on passing programmatic pieces of peacebuilding legislation in the short term while strengthening our strategy around a Department of Peace through research and holding the bottom line of achieving an infrastructure in the federal government that makes peace a priority. Check out our legislative strategy!
Peace Through Action
For years Student Peace Alliance members have been engaging in community peacebuilding activities with their chapters. We feel this work is a necessity to building sustainable peace and have therefore made it a strong focus of the organization. We will actively work with chapters to both encourage and support their efforts to train in the field of nonviolence and engage
in the day-to-day work of preventing and reducing violence. Through these community service efforts youth around the country will create change in their communities, deepen their understanding of peacebuilding, and enhance their ability to advocate for it. Check out some ideas for community peacebuilding efforts! If you have a strong interest in this aspect of Student Peace Alliance and would like to support chapters in doing this work, email Julia at

New Resources
We have added a ton of new resources throughout the website. Check out all the great stuff we've added about Youth PROMISE Act on the new webpages and in our resources section. We have also included an incredible Chapter Manual that is a great tool for all those interested in organizing with Student Peace Alliance, from people organizing for the first time to those experienced organizers.
